The alternative list

To those of you who have moved to Eysturkommuna (EYK), I am very pleased that you chose us.

I will work towards making the arrival for foreign newcomers to EYK as smooth as possible. Where you will be welcomed in a good, respectful manner so that you will feel comfortable.

I will also work towards making it easy for foreign newcomers to learn

our Faroese language and to learn about our culture and traditions.

I came to The Faroes from Greenland aged 5. I did not speak the language but could understand it.

About myself and what I stand for:

I'm hardworking and trustworthy. I'll work towards ensuring an integrated municipality wherein the wellbeing of its citizens is of utmost importance, a municipality in which people wish to stay and live, and where there is opportunity for the creative industry.

About me

I'm 55 years old, married to Árni and together we have two adult children. I am a fully-trained architectural designer and have worked in the private field for 19 years: 12 years in drafting rooms and 7 years in the building trade.

I have worked for municipalities for 5 years. 3 years in Fuglafjørður municipality, 2 years as technical director for Eiði municipality and I now work for Runavík municipality.
